Anadrol is a supplement that is technically an anabolic androgenic supplement (AAS) which carries both muscle-building and male sex hormone characteristics. Anadrol’s male sex hormone properties are believed to be its most potent, especially when compared to other injectable AAS. This makes it an asset for individuals who have problems with estrogen conversion or aromatization, such as bodybuilders during the cutting phase of competition preparation. Since its original circulating use, Anadrol has been heavily scrutinized and studied for its effect on muscle mass, strength, endurance and performance.

Although the testosterone to estrogen (T/E) ratio remains high when the supplement is used as an oral supplement in non-supplement, performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs), this can be lowered enough to reduce the aromatization of other supplement that may be co-administered. This lowers estrogen levels while still maintaining high androgen levels. Estrogen levels are important when using any supplement compound during the cutting phase, as well. It is very common to supplement with anti-estrogens during a cutting cycle, so Anadrol’s ability to help lower estrogen levels can be valuable in high-intensity efforts.

Anadrol is typically administered at a dosage of 50–100 mg per day for an average adult male. The duration of use typically varies from 10 to 12 weeks, though this highly depends on an athlete’s propensity for the drug and needs.

Side effects associated with Anadrol include headaches, nausea, bloating and water retention. However, in the cutting phase of competition preparation, the side effects are less severe. The user will feel slightly more tired than he would have normally if Anadrol was not used at all. Besides this, users will experience increased muscle soreness as well as increased water retention during and after cycles of use. The muscle soreness and water weight can be released after basic physical exercise such as walking or jogging. Although Anadrol is not toxic to the liver, it is important to consider potential hepatotoxicity in the long run. The drug itself is not toxic to the liver, but its metabolites are. There are no cases of hepatoxicity when used at recommended doses and duration for approved indications, though there have been reports of long-term liver damages associated with the use of Anadrol 50 mg tablets by bodybuilders and athletes.
